The costs involved in the project
The total cost of the Mellor Heritage Project is put at £723,300
A total of £455,500.00 will come from the HLF and the rest takes the form of:
Cash contributions from Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council
Cash contributions from the Trust (raised by the Friends and other activities)
Volunteer time, which must be recorded and submitted each quarter. Volunteers are costed as if they were paid for their work on three different skill levels: those offering unskilled time, skilled time and those offering an unpaid professional contribution.
This funding will enable us to employ a two full time staff to work on the project:
A Project Officer, appointed by UMAU, to manage and co-ordinate the project
An Education and Community Officer, appointed by Stockport MBC, to work within both the formal and informal learning sector to involve and educate the public.
The rest of the costs are taken up with: costs associated with the annual excavation; purchase and hire of equipment; specialtist consultancy fees; accessibility for disabled people; production of trails, booklets and information boards, publications and a DVD etc.
